As dedicated cyclists ourselves, we bought The Retreat because of the cycle friendly roads, challenging climbs and spectacular scenery. Since making it our home, we’ve spent countless hours discovering hidden routes—riding from the Mediterranean coastline up to the dramatic slopes of the Sierra Nevada. We’ve even built up a special collection of our favourite local rides and café stops. This region continues to amaze us with its endless variety, offering something special for every type of cyclist.

Our favourite local cycling routes in Andalucia
Set off from The Retreat holiday home and roll straight onto quiet mountain roads, with circular routes from the house taking you through Órgiva, Lanjarón, and the white villages of the Alpujarra. Or ride down to the Med and along the winding coastal roads.
